Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly
SUMMARY: Subsequent to publication, it was determined that several sections of the NOFA required revision to correct particulars such as email addresses, tables and exhibits. Also, additional clarification in reference to Energy Star and Green Development was found to be necessary. Because of the integral nature of these corrections, the deadline for application submission has been extended. This notice is intended to disseminate this information to the entire applicant pool as rapidly as possible, to facilitate applicants’ recognition and utilization of these changes to the NOFA. This program provides funding for the development and operation of supportive housing for very low-income persons 62 years of age or older. HUD provides capital advances and contracts for project rental assistance in accordance with 24 CFR parts 891. Capital advances must be used for the construction or rehabilitation of a structure, or acquisition of a structure with or without rehabilitation.
ELIGIBILITY: Private nonprofit organizations and nonprofit consumer cooperatives.
AWARD: Total funding set at $420,900,000.

Center for Watershed Protection: Technical Capacity Mini-Grant Program
SUMMARY: The Center for Watershed Protection is currently inviting proposals for its Technical Capacity Mini-Grant program, awarding direct assistance and financial support to a wide range of small watershed organizations. These small watershed organizations play a key role in local watershed management and, collectively, in regional water resource protection and restoration. The goal of the mini-grant program is to strengthen the technical capacity of these watershed organizations in the areas of stormwater and watershed management.
ELIGIBILITY: Any small not-for-profit 501(c)3 watershed group within the United States, and local government and conservation districts can also apply, provided they partner with a watershed group.
AWARD: Up to ten $5,000-15,000 grants
DEADLINE: Applications accepted on a rolling basis until the grant money has been awarded.

SUMMARY: The mission of the Kresge Foundation is to strengthen nonprofit organizations throughout the United States that advance the well-being of humanity. The Foundation’s six major areas of interest are health, environment, arts and culture, education, human services, and community development. Through the Capital Challenge Grant Program, the Foundation supports organizations’ immediate capital needs, such as building construction or renovation, the purchase of real estate, and the purchase of major equipment. Grants are awarded on a challenge basis, usually one-third to one-fifth of the amount an organization has to raise to complete its campaign goal.

SUMMARY: Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation makes grants primarily to community improvement projects and public education (priority given to k-12 schools). Rapid Assessment Post-Impact of Disaster
SUMMARY: The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to provide a rapid funding mechanism for research on the post-impact of disasters, in order to permit access to a disaster area in the immediate aftermath of the event. Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to contact NIMH Program Staff before submitting a RAPID application to determine whether or not the proposed work meets the guidelines of this program, whether requested RAPID funding is likely to be available, and whether the idea should be considered for initial submission as a fully developed application. The RAPID grants described in this funding opportunity announcement are designed to provide a limited sum of money for early assessment to investigators who intend to follow up with a full research application, using the preliminary data from this initial effort as a basis for their larger application.
