CLEVELAND, Ohio—A group of local students are the first to enroll in a new program designed to give students the skills to match the green economy.  The students will learn how to install and maintain wind turbines, ranging in size from 50 feet tall to over 300 feet tall.

Tremont Electric

An idea that sprung from a hike through the Appalachian Trail is now employing Ohioans at Cleveland’s Tremont Electric, a high-tech company harnessing kinetic energy from body movements and ocean waves.

A product of Ohio schools and universities, CEO Aaron LeMieux started his advanced energy business in his garage. Today, through partnerships with regional venture organizations like JumpStart and the state of Ohio’s Third Frontier Program, he has secured a larger manufacturing facility, will have six full-time employees this fall and plans on hiring 36 more in the next year.  The state of Ohio is committed to accelerating Ohio’s economic recovery and growth by encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation so companies like Tremont Electric can continue to succeed.
