Nine Projects Expected to Invest $204.6 Million, Impacting 1,995 Jobs

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for nine projects set to create 875 jobs and retain 1,120 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in $43.7 million in new payroll, and spur approximately $204.6 million in investment across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

SOUTHWEST

Advics Manufacturing Ohio, Inc., City of Lebanon (Warren Co.) expects to create 260 full-time positions, generating $10.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $33.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Lebanon (Warren Co.).  Advics Manufacturing Ohio manufactures brake components. The TCA approved a 1.538 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

CENTRAL

Atlantic Pacific Equipment, Inc., City of Marion (Marion Co.) expects to create 10 full-time positions, generating $660,000 in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Marion (Marion Co.). Atlantic Pacific Equipment is a scaffolding business. The TCA approved a 1.116 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

CCL Label, Inc., City of New Albany (Licking Co.) expects to create 80 full-time positions, generating $3.6 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of New Albany (Licking Co.). CCL Label manufactures and designs labels. The TCA approved a 1.28 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Comresource, Inc., City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 70 full-time positions, generating $4.2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $13.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). Comresource is an information technology service company. The TCA approved a 1.5 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

J.E. Grote Company, Inc., City of Gahanna (Franklin Co.) expects to create 13 full-time positions, generating $700,000 in new annual payroll and retaining $6.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s acquisition project in the City of Gahanna (Franklin Co.). J.E. Grote Company manufactures equipment for the food processing industry. The TCA approved a .872 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Questline, Inc., City of Dublin (Franklin Co.) expects to create 18 full-time positions, generating $1.6 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Dublin (Franklin Co.). Questline partners with energy utilities to provide energy content to customers such as digital communications, analytics and industry insights. The TCA approved a 1.349 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHWEST

Plumbline Consulting, LLC, City of Findlay (Hancock Co.) expects to create 20 full-time positions, generating $1.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Findlay (Hancock Co.). Plumbline Consulting is a software engineering, support and consulting services company. The TCA approved a 1.265 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

WEST

Radiance Technologies Inc., City of Riverside (Montgomery Co.) expects to create 129 full-time positions, generating $11.6 million in new annual payroll and retaining $6.4 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Riverside (Montgomery Co.). Radiance Technologies specializes in systems engineering, technology and prototype development, integration, testing and operational support for the U.S. Department of Defense, armed services, intelligence agencies and other government organizations. The TCA approved a 2.108 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

LOCATION TBD

Bell Ohio, Inc. (Location TBD) expects to create 275 full-time positions, generating $9.2 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project at a to-be-determined location. Bell Ohio manufactures paperboard cartons. The TCA approved a 1.377 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NOTE: As part of the FY2016-2017 budget, the Job Creation Tax Credit program is being modernized to keep Ohio competitive, moving from a withholding-based to a payroll-based calculation. The JCTC will continue to be revenue neutral to the state. The program remains a performance-based credit which rewards companies for creating jobs and higher wages.
