Kasich Announces Appointment To Cleveland Municipal Court March 14, 2016 COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Michael R. Sliwinski of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) to serve as a judge on the Cleveland Municipal Court. Sliwinski will assume office on April 4, 2016, and must run in November 2017 to retain the seat for a full term commencing January 5, 2018. Sliwinski is replacing Judge Ed Wade, who has been elected to another seat on the Cleveland Municipal Court. Sliwinski received his bachelor’s degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu and his juris doctorate from the University of Dayton. Sliwinski currently serves as assistant legal counsel for the Ohio Lottery Commission. Sliwinski is a member of the Ohio Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and serves on the Cuyahoga County Soldiers and Sailors Monument Board of Trustees.
