Kasich Announces Appointment to Butler County Court of Common Pleas February 3, 2017 COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of J. Gregory Howard of Middletown (Butler Co.) to serve as a judge on the Butler County Court of Common Pleas. Howard will assume office on February 27, 2017 and must run in the November 2018 general election to retain the seat for the full term commencing January 3, 2019. Howard is replacing Judge Craig Hedric, who passed away. Howard received his bachelor’s degree from University of Kentucky and his juris doctorate from Northern Kentucky University. Howard has served as the acting judge for the Middletown Municipal Court since 2008. He is a member of the Ohio Bar Association, former president of the Butler County Bar Association and former president of the Mid-Miami Valley Bar Association.
