Kasich Announces Appointment to Hancock County Court of Common Pleas February 21, 2017 COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Jonathan P. Starn of Findlay (Hancock Co.) to serve as a judge on the Hancock County Common Pleas Court. Starn will assume office on March 3, 2017, and must run in the November 2018 election to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends December 31, 2020. Starn is replacing Judge Joseph H. Niemeyer, who resigned. Starn received his bachelor’s degree and juris doctorate from Capital University. He has served as the judge of Findlay Municipal Court since 2010. Starn is a member of the Ohio Judicial College Board of Trustees, the Findlay/Hancock County Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Association of Municipal and County Court Judges of Ohio.
