Jillian E. Froment Sworn in as Director of Ohio Department of Insurance April 6, 2017 COLUMBUS—Today, Jillian E. Froment was sworn in as director of Ohio’s Department of Insurance. Froment replaces Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor who stepped down as director last month. Taylor continues to serve as lieutenant governor. “As Director Froment takes over as a capable and well-prepared leader of the department, I want to thank Mary Taylor for more than six years of exemplary service in that role during a time of historic change for the insurance industry. I look forward to our continuing partnership as we work to move Ohio forward,” said Kasich. Froment has served as deputy director of the department since 2011. She has actively represented Ohio as part of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, which establishes industry standards for all 50 states, and has served on the Cybersecurity Task Force, the Innovation and Technology Task Force and the Unclaimed Life Insurance Benefits Working Group. She is currently serving as the Treasurer of the Interstate Insurance Product Regulation Commission. She earned a Juris Doctorate from Capital University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering from The Ohio State University.
