Kasich Announces Appointment to Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, General Division March 6, 2015 COLUMBUS - Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Megan E. Shanahan of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.) to serve as a judge on the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, General Division. Shanahan will assume office on April 13, 2015, and must run in November 2016 to retain the seat for the full term commencing January 15, 2017. Shanahan is replacing Judge Ralph Winkler, who has been elected to the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, Probate Division. Shanahan received her bachelor of arts from Kent State University and her juris doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Past experience includes positions as assistant prosecutor for the Butler County Prosecutor's Office, where she served in the appellate, municipal and trial divisions, and the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office, where she served in the felony trial division. She was also a prosecutor for the Mt. Healthy Mayor's Court and currently serves as a judge for the Hamilton County Municipal Court, District 4.
