New Projects Expected to Create More Than $23 Million in Investments

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for 5 projects set to create 388 new jobs and retain 366 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $17 million in new payroll and spur more than $23 million in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

NORTHEAST

BoxCast Inc., City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 71 full-time positions, generating $4.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.). BoxCast designs, manufactures, and manages subscription-based hardware that allows clients to provide live streaming services. The TCA approved a 1.402 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Trelleborg Sealing Profiles US, Inc., City of Aurora (Portage Co.) expects to create 32 full-time positions, generating $1.7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Aurora (Portage Co.). Trelleborg Sealing Profiles provides sealing solutions for the construction, industrial, and transportation industries. The TCA approved a 1.289 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHWEST

deSter Corporation, City of Lima (Allen Co.) expects to create 70 full-time positions, generating $2.8 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Lima (Allen Co.).  deSter provides design and manufacturing services, specializing in plastics, cutlery packs, condiments, and aluminum products. The TCA approved a 1.337 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST

UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Inc., West Chester Township (Butler Co.) expects to create 130 full-time positions, generating $5.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in West Chester Township (Butler Co.). UPS Supply Chain Solutions provides services including logistics and distribution, transportation and freight, consulting, customs brokerage, and international trade. The TCA approved a 1.505 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

TO BE DETERMINED

New Avon LLC, (Location TBD) expects to create 85 full-time positions, generating $3.7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $9.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in a to-be-determined location. New Avon is a beauty company that provides products including skincare, color cosmetics, and fragrance. The TCA approved a 1.51 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
