Statewide Investments to Create More Than $131 Million in New Payroll

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for 10 projects set to create 2,828 new jobs and retain 10,291 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $131 million in new payroll, and spur more than $122 million in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

NORTHEAST

Amazon Fulfillment Services, Inc., City of Euclid (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 1,000 full-time positions, generating $27.7 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Euclid (Cuyahoga Co.). Amazon Fulfillment Services is an electronic commerce company. The TCA approved a 1.35 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Champlain Enterprises, LLC, City of North Olmsted (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 81 full-time positions, generating $6.7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $5.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of North Olmsted (Cuyahoga Co.). Champlain Enterprises is majority owner of CommutAir, operating as United Express. The TCA approved a 1.944 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

MCPc, Inc., City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 150 full-time positions, generating $6.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $14.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.). MCPc provides technology solutions to help companies manage logistics and security. The TCA approved a 1.213 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Progressive Casualty Insurance Company, City of Highland Heights (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 900 full-time positions, generating $63 million in new annual payroll and retaining $819.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Highland Heights (Cuyahoga Co.). Progressive Casualty Insurance provides insurance for personal and commercial automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, boats, recreational vehicles, and homes. The TCA approved a 2.35 percent, 12-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHWEST

Detroit Manufacturing Systems Toledo and Non-Automotive, LLC (DMS), City of Toledo (Lucas Co.) expects to create 120 full-time positions, generating $5.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $578,738 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Toledo (Lucas Co.). DMS manufactures and assembles injection molded interior trim components such as cockpits for automotive brands. The TCA approved a 1.461 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

MetalX, LLC, Village of Delta (Fulton Co.) expects to create 75 full-time positions, generating $3.9 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the Village of Delta (Fulton Co.). MetalX is a recycling and processing company that transforms scrap metal into a form that is suitable for remelting. The TCA approved a 1.448 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

CENTRAL

Adept Marketing Outsourced LLC, City of Grandview Heights (Franklin Co.) expects to create 35 full-time positions, generating $2.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Grandview Heights (Franklin Co.). Adept Marketing is a marketing and communications firm specializing in digital marketing for various industries including healthcare, insurance, and technology. The TCA approved a 1.484 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Capital Energy LLC, City of Westerville (Delaware Co.) expects to create 48 full-time positions, generating $3.2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $1.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Westerville (Delaware Co.). Capital Energy is a certified retail electric service provider for residential and commercial markets. The TCA approved a 1.537 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

FloQast, Inc., City of Dublin (Franklin Co.) expects to create 19 full-time positions, generating $1.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $268,520 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Dublin (Franklin Co.). FloQast is a software design company whose main product line organizes and automates the end-of-month accounting process for businesses. The TCA approved a 1.373 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Le Tote, Inc., Village of Obetz (Franklin Co.) expects to create 400 full-time positions, generating $10.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the Village of Obetz (Franklin Co.). Le Tote is a personal styling service, where customers receive clothing and accessories through a monthly membership. The TCA approved a 1.261 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
