Kasich Announces Appointment to the Columbiana County Municipal Court February 27, 2018 Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Timothy J. McNicol of Wellsville (Columbiana Co.) to serve as a judge on the Columbiana County Municipal Court. McNicol will assume office on March 7, 2018. He must run in November 2019 to retain the seat for the full term commencing January 2, 2020. McNicol is replacing Judge Charles C. Amato who resigned. McNicol received his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and his law degree from Capital University. He is currently an assistant prosecuting attorney for Columbiana County, an assistant law director before the East Liverpool Municipal Court, and a mayor’s court magistrate in Wellsville. McNicol is a member of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association and the Ohio Municipal Attorneys Association. He is also involved in the Riverside Presbyterian Church as an Elder and Deacon, and is a youth softball and basketball coach, and a former director of the Southern Columbiana County United Way.
