New Projects Expected to Create More than $1 Billion in New Investments

NEW PROJECTS EXPECTED TO CREATE MORE THAN
$1 BILLION IN INVESTMENTS

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for 10 projects set to create 3,437 new jobs and retain 2,203 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $207 million in new payroll, and spur more than $1 billion in investments across Ohio.                                                                            

Projects approved by the TCA include:

NORTHEAST

O'Reilly Auto Enterprises, LLC, City of Twinsburg (Summit Co.), expects to create 350 full-time positions, generating $10.4 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Twinsburg (Summit Co.). O'Reilly Auto Enterprises is an auto parts retailer. The TCA approved a 1.347 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

ProVia LLC, Franklin Township (Tuscarawas Co.), expects to create 197 full-time positions, generating $8.9 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Franklin Township (Tuscarawas Co.). ProVia manufactures entry doors, storm doors, patio doors, windows, vinyl siding and manufactured stone veneer. The TCA approved a 1.538 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

RhinoSystems, Inc., City of Brooklyn (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 117 full-time positions, generating $5.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $884,000 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Brooklyn (Cuyahoga Co.). RhinoSystems manufactures a nasal irrigator that uses controlled suction to gently wash nasal passages. The TCA approved a 1.527 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Search Discovery, Inc., City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 51 full-time positions, generating $6.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.). Search Discovery is a data analytics consulting firm. The TCA approved a 1.374 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Zimmer Surgical, Inc., City of Broadview Heights (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.4 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Broadview Heights (Cuyahoga Co.). Zimmer Surgical designs, develops, manufactures and markets orthopedic reconstructive devices, spinal and trauma devices, biologics, dental implants and related surgical products. The TCA approved a 1.756 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHWEST

First Solar, Inc., Village of Walbridge (Wood Co.), expects to create 1,000 full-time positions, generating $60 million in new annual payroll and retaining $65.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the Village of Walbridge (Wood Co.). First Solar manufactures solar panels and operates photovoltaic power plants. The TCA approved a 2.267 percent, 15-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

JAC Products, Inc., City of Napoleon (Henry Co.), expects to create 357 full-time positions, generating $14.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Napoleon (Henry Co.). JAC Products engineers and supplies products for the auto industry. The TCA approved a 1.561 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

CENTRAL

CoverMyMeds LLC, City of Columbus (Franklin Co.), expects to create 1,032 full-time positions, generating $75.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $35.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). CoverMyMeds is an online drug prior authorization program that allows prescribers to begin the prior authorization process electronically. The TCA approved a 2.35 percent, 12-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST

Design Within Reach, Inc., Williamsburg Township (Clermont Co.), expects to create 63 full-time positions, generating $2.4 million in new annual payroll and retaining $587,985 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Williamsburg Township (Clermont Co.). Design Within Reach sells upscale home furnishings, as well as storage options, outdoor furniture, fixtures, lighting, rugs and related accessories. The TCA approved a 1.193 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

L3 Cincinnati Electronics Corporation, City of Mason (Warren Co.), expects to create 245 full-time positions, generating $21 million in new annual payroll and retaining $62.4 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Mason (Warren Co.). L3 Cincinnati Electronics designs, develops and manufactures electronics equipment. The TCA approved a 1.906 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
