Seven Statewide Investments to Create More Than $21 Million In New Payroll

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for seven projects set to create 530 jobs and retain 536 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in $21,241,653 in new payroll and spur $24.1 million in investment across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

CENTRAL

Ball Metal Food Container, LLC, City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $2.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $10.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). Ball Metal manufactures packaging for food, beverage and household goods. The TCA approved a 1.228 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Cognitive Ventures, LLC, City of Dublin (Franklin Co.) expects to create 17 full-time positions, generating $1.6 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Dublin (Franklin Co.). Cognitive Ventures offers concussion testing and management programs for youth, high school, college and professional sports organizations. The TCA approved a 1.426 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

GENCO I, Inc., City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 82 full-time positions, generating $3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). GENCO provides logistic services including contract packaging, warehousing, distribution and transportation. The TCA approved a 1.153 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHEAST

Risk International Services, Inc., City of Fairlawn (Summit Co.) expects to create 18 full-time positions, generating $1.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining    $4 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Fairlawn (Summit Co.). Risk International provides risk management solutions. The TCA approved a 1.401 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

WEST

ATK Space Systems, Inc., Cities of Kettering (Montgomery Co.) and Beavercreek (Greene Co.) expects to create 68 full-time positions, generating $4.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s consolidation project in the Cities of Kettering (Montgomery Co.) and Beavercreek (Greene Co.). ATK Space Systems is a supplier of solid rocket motors, launch vehicles, satellites and other space systems. The TCA approved a 1.701 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST

Rotex Global, LLC, City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.) expects to create 20 full-time positions, generating $867,616 in new annual payroll and retaining $9.9 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.). Rotex is a provider of dry material screening equipment and technology for the agriculture, chemicals, fertilizer, food, minerals, plastics and recycling industries. The TCA approved a 0.722 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

LOCATION TO BE DETERMINED

EBTH.COM, LLC (Location TBD) expects to create 275 full-time positions, generating $7.7 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project at a to-be-determined location. EBTH is an online estate sale company. The TCA approved a 1.259 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax credit for this project.
