Statewide Investments to Create $76 Million In New Payroll

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for fourteen projects set to create 1,814 new jobs and retain 3,081 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in $76 million in new payroll, and spur more than $230 million in investment across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

NORTHWEST

Credit Adjustments, Inc., City of Defiance (Defiance Co.) expects to create 80 full-time positions, generating $3.1 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Defiance (Defiance Co.). Credit Adjustments Inc. is a third party call center company which focuses on higher education, financial and health service sectors. The TCA approved a 1.158 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.


SOUTHWEST

MTK, Inc., City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.) expects to create 35 full-time positions, generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $3.9 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.). MTK is an independent laboratory that provides testing and quality assurance services for foods, beverages, flavorings, pharmaceuticals and water products. The TCA approved a 1.064 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.


WEST

Dmax, Ltd., City of Moraine (Montgomery Co.) expects to create 150 full-time positions, generating $4.4 million in new annual payroll and retaining $35 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Moraine (Montgomery Co.). Dmax manufactures diesel engines for trucks. The TCA approved a 0.926 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

Frontier Technology Corporation, City of Beavercreek (Greene Co.) expects to create 45 full-time positions, generating $4.1 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Beavercreek (Greene Co.). Frontier Technology integrates system engineering and operations research methodologies with information technology solutions. The TCA approved a 1.772 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

Silfex, Inc., City of Eaton (Preble Co.) expects to create 109 full-time positions, generating $5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $20 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Eaton (Preble Co.). Silfex provides high purity custom silicon components and assemblies that serve a broad base of high technology markets. The TCA approved a 1.321 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

Tenneco Automotive Operating Company Inc., City of Kettering (Montgomery Co.) expects to create 483 full-time positions, generating $15.8 million in new annual payroll and retaining $22.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Kettering (Montgomery Co.). Tenneco designs, manufactures and distributes automotive ride control and emission control products and systems. The TCA approved a 1.724 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.


CENTRAL

Exel Inc., Village of Obetz (Franklin Co.) expects to create 400 full-time positions, generating $13.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the Village of Obetz (Franklin Co.). Exel Inc., dba DHL Supply Chain, provides procurement, manufacturing, assembly, finished goods warehousing, transportation and e-commerce fulfilment services. The TCA approved a 1.485 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

U.S. Bank National Association, City of Columbus (Delaware Co.) expects to create 60 full-time positions, generating $3.8 million in new annual payroll and retaining $938,000 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Columbus (Delaware Co.). U.S. Bank is a federally chartered U.S. national banking association. The TCA approved a 1.618 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

Zaner-Bloser, Inc., City of Grandview Heights (Franklin Co.) expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $1.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $4.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Grandview Heights (Franklin Co.). Zaner-Bloser is a publisher of research-based reading, writing, spelling, handwriting and study skills programs. The TCA approved a 1.103 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.


NORTHEAST

National Interstate Insurance Company, Village of Richfield (Summit Co.) expects to create 217 full-time positions, generating $13.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $33 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the Village of Richfield (Summit Co.). National Interstate is a specialty property and casualty insurance company specializing in trucking, passenger transportation vehicles and moving and storage industry products. The TCA approved a 2.020 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

PRIME AE Group, Inc., City of Akron (Summit Co.) expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $2.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location project in the City of Akron (Summit Co.). PRIME AE provides professional services in architecture, engineering, construction management and technology. The TCA approved a 1.574 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

RelateCare, LLC, City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $520,000 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new location project in the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.). RelateCare provides patient access and patient engagement solutions for hospital call centers. The TCA approved a 1.305 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.


LOCATION TO BE DETERMINED

Reveelium Inc., (Location TBD) expects to create 15 full-time positions, generating $975,000 in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project at a to-be-determined location. Reveelium analyzes cyber system events daily and logs in real time. The TCA approved a 1.135 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

 

Wasserstrom Holdings, Inc. (Location TBD) expects to create 120 full-time positions, generating $4.8 million in new annual payroll and retaining $49.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project at a to-be-determined location. Wasserstrom is a restaurant supplier with distribution centers located across North America. The TCA approved a 1.085 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
