Kasich Announces Appointments to Akron Municipal Court

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Jason T. Adams of Akron (Summit Co.) to serve as a judge on the Akron Municipal Court. Adams will assume office on March 1, 2017, and must run in the November 2017 election to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends December 31, 2019. Adams is replacing Judge Katarina Cook, who has been elected to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Division.

Adams received his bachelor’s degree and juris doctorate from University of Akron. Adams has served as the magistrate for the Summit County Common Pleas Court since 2009. He is a member of the Ohio Bar Association, Akron Bar Association and Ohio Magistrate’s Association. Adams is also a board member of the Ahepa National Housing Corps. and the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Ann Marie O’Brien of Akron (Summit Co.) to serve as a judge on the Akron Municipal Court. O’Brien will assume office on February 21, 2017, and must run in the November 2017 to retain the seat for the full term commencing January 3, 2018.  O’Brien is replacing Judge Joy Malek Oldfield, who has been elected to the Summit County Court of Common Pleas, General Division.

O’Brien received her bachelor’s degree from Hiram College and her juris doctorate from University of Akron. O’Brien currently serves as judicial attorney for the Summit County Court of Common Pleas. She is a member of the Ohio Bar Association and former president of the Akron Bar Association.  O’Brien is also a member of the Junior League of Akron, the Summit County Collaborative Against Human Trafficking and former member of the Hiram College Alumni Executive Board.
