New Projects Expected to Create More than $1.4 Billion in Investments

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for 11 projects set to create 894 new jobs and retain 1,048 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $62 million in new payroll, and spur more than $1.4 billion in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

CENTRAL

FacilitySource, LLC, City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 272 full-time positions, generating $13.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $15.6 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). FacilitySource is a facilities management company. The TCA approved a 1.689 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Fluvitex USA, Inc., City of Groveport (Franklin Co.) expects to create 80 full-time positions, generating $3.7 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Groveport (Franklin Co.). Fluvitex provides bedding products such as pillows, cushions, and comforters. The TCA approved a 1.602 percent, five-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SEA, LTD., City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 18 full-time positions, generating $1.4 million in new annual payroll and retaining $13 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). SEA provides expert witness testimony, research, testing, investigation, and forensic engineering to manufacturers, law firms, municipalities, and insurance companies. The TCA approved a 1.52 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Sidecat LLC, City of New Albany (Licking Co.) expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $4 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of New Albany (Licking Co.). Sidecat provides information technology services, such as remotely accessed computing power and data storage. The TCA approved a 2 percent, ten-year Job Creation Tax Credit and a 100 percent, 15-year data center sales tax exemption for this project.

NORTHEAST

ContiTech USA, Inc., City of Fairlawn (Summit Co.) expects to create 50 full-time positions, generating $4 million in new annual payroll and retaining $17.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Fairlawn (Summit Co.). ContiTech USA provides rubber products and technology for the auto and industrial markets. The TCA approved a 2.034 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Fund That Flip, Inc., City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 25 full-time positions, generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $190,000 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.). Fund That Flip provides real estate developers funding at lower rates than traditional lenders. The TCA approved a 1.329 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

WEST

Adare Pharmaceuticals, Inc., City of Vandalia (Montgomery Co.) expects to create 29 full-time positions, generating $1.6 million in new annual payroll and retaining $15.3 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Vandalia (Montgomery Co.). Adare Pharmaceuticals develops, manufactures, markets, and distributes customized drug release technologies. The TCA approved a 1.283 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHWEST

Alpont, LLC, City of Oregon (Lucas Co.) expects to create 40 full-time positions, generating $2.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Oregon (Lucas Co.). Alpont manufacturers, stores, and distributes various chemicals to customers across the United States and Canada. The TCA approved a 1.407 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

IronUnits LLC, City of Toledo (Lucas Co.) expects to create 130 full-time positions, generating $16 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Toledo (Lucas Co.).  IronUnits will produce hot briquetted iron for the steel industry. The TCA approved a 2.887 percent, 12-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Apio, Inc., City of Bowling Green (Wood Co.) expects to create 150 full-time positions, generating $10.2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $12.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Bowling Green (Wood Co.). Apio processes, packages, ships, and distributes packaged vegetables and fruits to foodservice channels, retail grocery stores, club stores, and wholesale stores in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The TCA approved a 1.694 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
