Statewide Investments to Create $14.8 Million in New Payroll

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for four projects set to create 172 new jobs and retain 162 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $14.8 million in new payroll and spur $605,000 in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

CENTRAL

King Memory LLC, City of Columbus (Franklin Co.) expects to create 40 full-time positions, generating $2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $924,000 in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Columbus (Franklin Co.). King Memory provides custom IT systems in the areas of fulfillment, processing, customer service, shipping, security, product listing and inventory management. The TCA approved a 1.272 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHEAST

NRP Investments LLC, City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 38 full-time positions, generating $3.2 million in new annual payroll and retaining $11.5 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.). NRP Investments provides community management, leasing, maintenance and construction services. The TCA approved a 1.654 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Robots and Pencils L.P., City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.) expects to create 54 full-time positions, generating $5.9 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2.2 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.). Robots and Pencils is a mobile applications, software and digital marketing firm. The TCA approved a 2.27 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST

Claritas LLC, City of Montgomery (Hamilton Co.) expects to create 40 full-time positions, generating $3.6 million in new annual payroll and retaining $2.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Montgomery (Hamilton Co.). Claritas is a market research company. The TCA approved a 1.716 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
