Kasich Announces Appointment to Hamilton County Municipal Court, District 4 April 10, 2015 COLUMBUS - Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Joshua A. Berkowitz of Norwood (Hamilton Co.) to serve as a judge on the Hamilton County Municipal Court, District 4. Berkowitz will assume office on April 15, 2015, and must run in November 2015 to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends January 4, 2020. Berkowitz is replacing Judge Megan E. Shanahan, who has been appointed to the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, General Division. Berkowitz received his bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University and his juris doctorate from Capital University. His experience includes work as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office and the law director for the City of Norwood. He has also served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office.
