Kasich Announces Appointment to Delaware Municipal Court

COLUMBUS - Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the appointment of Marianne T. Hemmeter of Delaware (Delaware Co.) to serve as a judge on the Delaware Municipal Court. Hemmeter will assume office on February 17, 2015, and must run in November 2015 to retain the seat for the remainder of the unexpired term, which ends January 1, 2020. Hemmeter is replacing Judge David Gormley, who has been elected to the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, General and Domestic Relations Divisions.

Hemmeter received her bachelor of arts from Trinity University and her juris doctorate from The Ohio State University's School of Law. Past experience includes service as the assistant prosecutor for the Delaware City Prosecutor's Office and work with the Ohio Attorney Genera l's Office, including roles as the deputy director of the Economic Crime Unit and the senior assistant attorney general for the Special Prosecutions Unit.

She is a trainer for the Ohio Attorney General's Statewide Sexual Assault Response Team and Interpersonal Violence Response Team and has also served as the interim prosecuting attorney for Delaware County. She is a member of the Delaware County Women's Club.
