Kasich Signs Three Bills

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich signed the following bill into law:

  • Sub. S.B. 144 (Burke) abolishes the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities Commission, Consumer Advisory Committee, and Governor's Council on People with Disabilities; establishes a state rehabilitation services council known as the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities Council; and restores staggered terms of office for the employee members representing firefighters on the board of trustees of the Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund.
  • Am. Sub. H.B. 79 (Retherford, Hagan) provides for firearms training for tactical medical professionals; permits such a professional who has received that training and has been specifically authorized by the law enforcement agency to carry firearms while on duty; and grants such a professional the same right to carry a concealed handgun in this state as a concealed handgun licensee.
  • H.B. 45 (Sprague) designates May as “Neurofibromatosis Awareness Month.”
