New Projects Expected to Create More than $470 Million in New Investments

NEW PROJECTS EXPECTED TO CREATE MORE THAN
$470 MILLION IN INVESTMENTS

COLUMBUS – Today Governor John R. Kasich announced the approval of assistance for 8 projects set to create 1,929 new jobs and retain 5,548 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $100 million in new payroll, and spur more than $470 million in investments across Ohio.

Projects approved by the TCA include:

NORTHEAST

IML Containers of Ohio, Plain Township (Stark Co.), expects to create 80 full-time positions, generating $2.7 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Plain Township (Stark Co.). IML Containers of Ohio provides research and development, die-cutting, molding, production and warehousing for the consumer-packaged goods market. The TCA approved a 1.129 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHWEST

Faurecia Interior Systems Saline, LLC, City of Toledo (Lucas Co.), expects to create 101 full-time positions, generating $4.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Toledo (Lucas Co.). Faurecia Interior Systems Saline manufactures automotive parts. The TCA approved a 1.229 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHEAST

JSW Steel USA Ohio, Inc., Village of Mingo Junction (Jefferson Co.), expects to create 280 full-time positions, generating $14.6 million in new annual payroll and retaining $6.2 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s acquisition project in the Village of Mingo Junction (Jefferson Co.). JSW Steel manufactures steel. The TCA approved a 1.5 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST

AAG Glass, LLC, Village of Batavia (Clermont Co.), expects to create 89 full-time positions, generating $3.8 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the Village of Batavia (Clermont Co.). AAG Glass manufactures glass and glass-related products. The TCA approved a 1.297 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Hollar, Inc., City of Fairfield (Butler Co.), expects to create 75 full-time positions, generating $2.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in the City of Fairfield (Butler Co.). Hollar is a discount online store for gifts and other goods, including toys, beauty products, electronics, apparel  and accessories. The TCA approved a 1.021 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

Sims-Lohman, Inc., City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.), expects to create 30 full-time positions, generating $1.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $9.1 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in the City of Cincinnati (Hamilton Co.). Sims-Lohman supplies cabinets and countertops to the building industry. The TCA approved a 1.236 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

LOCATION TBD

CMG Strategy Co, LLC, (Location TBD), expects to create 274 full-time positions, generating $21.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $4.9 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in a to-be-determined location. CMG Strategy Co is a subsidiary of Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc., a chain of fast casual restaurants. The TCA approved a 2.294 percent, 10-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
